Dr. Fernandez, M.D. was born in Santiago, Cuba and traveled to the U.S. at a young age. After serving in the Army Reserve he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry before entering the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Fernandez completed a Family Medicine Residency as Chief Resident. He also attended the Pope Paul VI institute and completed his training as a NaProTECHNOLOGY medical consultant. This provided him with key knowledge in the world of NaProTECHNOLOGY(natural procreative technology). In 2005 Dr. Fernandez opened his own practice, JMJ family practice. For the last two consecutive years, he has been awarded the “Orlando Magazine Top 100 Doctors”, and the “Orlando Magazine Finest Doctors” awards. To improve his health and that of his patients, Dr. Fernandez has sought to understand and incorporate an integrative medical approach with a goal to discover the root of one’s ailments through traditional and advance laboratory testing and applying that knowledge and offering treatment that is integrative. This includes paying attention to mind, body, and soul using traditional therapies along with nutritional support, exercise, meditation, and nutraceutical supplementation. For those that do not live in the Central Florida area, long distance consults are available.
